| Summary | This project follows the previous studies on the Research on Taiwan’s ITS System Architecture and Regional ITS Initiatives- Metropolitan Area and Intercity System Architecture (Phase I) to further investigate and improve the results. With the consideration of the demands from intercity and metropolitan transportation users and management agencies, this project aims to increase the involvement of the ITS stakeholders so that a broader aspect on ITS deployment could be obtained. This project focuses on ITS architectures development for metropolitan areas and intercity systems. The Metropolitan areas include Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. Intercity systems cover mainly national and provincial highway systems, but rail and air transportation systems are also related. Phase I of this project has already developed the primitive system architectures for three metropolitan areas and intercity systems. The project team of this phase chose Taipei area and intercity systems to develop a more detailed design for system architecture. In addition, two system architecture application tools are developed, web-based ITS Turbo Architecture and ITS System Architecture Website. |
