Summary | From the literature review, traffic accident data analysis integrating GPS, GIS, and satellite images is the trend for development. The focus of this study is to develop an integrated service system (Traffic Accident Location and Analysis System, TALAS), with: (1) traffic accident data automatic cleaning and positioning (2) hazardous locations integration and severity indicator calculation (3) hazardous location improvement operation (4) GIS spatial display with Google Maps (5) annual report. The above system functions, in addition to annual statistical report generation, all the other information required to locate the accident site. In this study, we compare accident address information with other location-based information databases (such as road junctions, address, or the mileage numbers) and road name database to complete the dismantling and position location information. Then, through the hazardous locations integration method this year, we can shorten the processing time of the original manual positioning. After hazardous locations integration processing, we can calculate severity indicators and automatically provide required hazardous location improvement information to counties. With reference to foreign practices, this study also provides on-line query and annual report for public use. |
