| Summary | With a combination of the techniques of global position system, digital atlas and geographic information system, many products of car navigation system have come to maturity. Car navigation system can help reduce the inconvenience of looking at the paper map while driving, and help drivers to avoid congested traffic with the real time traffic information showing on the digital map. It makes users feel that high technology can increase the quality and convenience of life. In this research, we introduced the framework and development of car navigation system, and analyzed the installation type, display mode and the content of information for the car navigation system. We also proposed the key issues to develop the car navigation system for Taiwan. |
