| Summary | This report summarizes the second year work of a three-year (2004-2006) project for updating 「Institute of Transportation Traffic Road Network Digital Atlas」. The Institute of Transportation (IOT) has endeavored to digitize the road network in Taiwan which is based on Aerophoto maps published by the Ministry of the Interior with a scale of 1:5000 annually (Data of the Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli areas were updated in 2005). In addition, IOT continued maintaining and updating the digital maps, according to the road variation. In addition to following up 「Internet road change reporting and mapping system」 developed by the first-year project, IOT modify this system with regard to the related foreign systems. IOT will continue to extend the level and amount of supporting organizations and hold training courses or symposiums to promote this system to relative departments. Besides, this project collects feedbacks from users and revises the function of this system. IOT provides better system to all road management agencies for uploading road information to make most current road network. |
