Summary | Due to the boom of maritime transportation, the demand for passenger ships and cruise tourism has increased in recent years. As a result, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced and revised relevant passenger ship safety management regulations and conventions, such as the International Safety Management Code and the International Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft. Additionally, in order to reduce the risk of maritime incidents with passenger ships and improve passenger ship safety, the European Union (EU) and New Zealand have continued to improve the management of passenger ship navigation in many maritime safety management tasks. Therefore, the purpose of this report is to explore the recent developments in passenger ship safety improvement by the IMO, the EU, and New Zealand. Furthermore, to examine the differences between Taiwan and other countries, it is expected to encourage improvements and suggestions for the safety management of domestic passenger ship management. |
