Summary | The signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between Taiwan and China and the significant increases in trade activities brought prosperous growth in the Cross-Straight logistics operations. This study conducted an analysis on the current status of bonded logistics operations in free-trade port areas in Taiwan and the ports of Fuzhou and Xiamen in Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone in China, which is the gathering place for Taiwanese merchants. A further analysis is conducted on supply chain distribution with trade activities across the Straits and information obtained through interviews in an attempt to predict a cooperation model for Taiwan and China regarding ports, as well as to propose suggestions for using free-trade ports areas to assist Taiwanese merchants in developing their industries. |
