Summary | As intellectual property issues have recently attracted increasing attention in international society and the related legal environment becomes more mature, intellectual property strategy becomes a key point that will affect future technique development. Only if the related intellectual property studies start simultaneously with research can the best efficiency of technique development in the future be ensured.
To enhance the ability to collect real-time traffic information and management efficiency of traffic networks in Taiwan, as well as to strengthen the efficiency of local traffic control systems, the Institute of Transportation (IOT) has accomplished many related ITS research projects and obtained many specific results. To ensure that the implementations of IOT’s research results in Taiwan will not infringe on others’ intellectual properties and to enhance the development of related traffic industries, following the international trend to create an intellectual property strategy study and technique development simultaneously is the only choice for IOT when performing technique development in the future. In view of the above, we studied intellectual property strategies simultaneously as the IOT’s technique research projects started in order to reveal the future trends of the related technique and to enhance the research and development efficiency of the IOT. Furthermore, we established a knowledge management system that has integrated the technique and intellectual property research results of the IOT to offer knowledge sharing services to industrial, government, and academic researchers, and to avoid the waste of research resources being used in the same technique research issues. We hope that the intellectual property research results and establishment of the knowledge management system can bring more implementation efficiency to the IOT in the future. |
