| Summary | The study compiles the laws and regulations regarding traffic impact assessment (TIA) for the reference of developers in preparing the TIA reports. It conducts a questionnaire survey on the viewpoints and practices of local authorities which are responsible for implementing TIA processes. Based upon that, the content of TIA at the stages of development planning and practical planning is then defined. Finally, the study proposes a TIA handbook. The proposed TIA handbook is applicable to the TIA reports prepared by the developers and planners when they plan to apply their site development cases for related review processes, including environment impact assessment, development permits review, urban design review, or preliminary screening of construction license. The content of this handbook includes: applicable cases, terminologies, procedure for conducting TIA, operational regulations, review items of TIA, as well as the related laws and regulations for the reference of transportation authorities and site developers. |
