Summary | Published in April 2004 IOT SERIAL No. 93-61-794, 174pp. Corrosion of harbor steel structures in marine environment is apparent. Cathodic protection has been confirmed to be the most efficient method to prevent steel corrosion in submerged zone. Therefore, the present study is focused on developing a guideline for the use of the cathodic protection technique at harbor steel structures in marine environments. The themes included 1) collection of cathodic protection related documentation, 2) case study, 3) requirement for cathodic protection design, engineering work, operation, and evaluation, and 4) a suitable operation manual stipulated through full discussion at conferences. It is highly expected that the operation manual would be useful to harbor authorities in Taiwan. |
