| Summary | This handbook is an attachment of “The establishment of the ‘Manual on Uniform Guide Signs’ (3/3)” project from 2009. Since the original guide signs in Taiwan do not uniformly and systematically or efficiently provide users with correct information, this project proposes a localized manual on uniform guide signs, based on verifying the existing problem of domestic guide signs and summarizing the worldwide related rules. This handbook is revised from the 2008 version, and includes 7 major units: Getting Started, General Rules for Guide Sign Design, Guide Signs for Highways, Guide Signs for Freeways and Expressways, Guide Signs for Urban Streets, Guide Signs for Assistance, and Supervising Existing Guide Signs. This handbook also provides 4 attachments to assist users when planning guide signs: Standard Alphanumeric Fonts, Standard Guide Sign Layouts, General Rules for English Translation, and Types and Structure for Sign Poles. |
