Summary | Ports and shipping are vital to the functioning of the global economy, facilitating nearly 80% of global trade activities. However, due to the threat of climate change and natural disasters, accidents caused by strong winds and other meteorological factors may cause negative impacts on the entire supply chain and cause economic losses. At the same time, the increase in the size of ships has also led to an increase in the wind force on the ships, making ship operation and navigation more complicated. To provide Taiwan's major commercial ports with relevant information needed for ship docking, ship entry and exit, terminal operations, port structure design and disaster prevention and early warning, etc.Including Taipei Port, Keelung Port, Suao Port, Hualien Port, Kaohsiung Port, Anping Port, Butai Port, Penghu Port, Taichung Port and Matsu Port. The specific results of this plan are as follows: 1. Complete the regular maintenance and repair work of the wind observation station entrusted by the Taiwan International Ports Corporation and the Lianjiang County Government to our institute, so that it can operate normally and automatically return data to our database, and provide real-time display for use .At the same time, 10 measuring stations were replaced with new ones, significantly improving system stability and data credibility. 2. In response to the needs of wind measurement station management and data analysis, this project completed the integration and update of wind observation databases in various ports to improve the efficiency and security of wind observation databases. At the same time, through the introduction of the automated quality control mechanism, the original data (without quality control) and the data after quality control are classified and compiled to provide the Taiwan International Ports Corporation, with the required database that can be selected according to needs. 3. Complete the 2022 annual wind observation data annual report, providing information such as calendar charts of wind speed and wind direction in each port, wind rose charts, wind speed and wind direction joint probability analysis tables and other charts. Analyze the characteristics of strong gusts and the impact of typhoons in the past two years for specific ports, and provide the Maritime Port Bureau. MOTC, port management units, and engineering consulting companies as a reference for port engineering planning and design, port construction, navigation safety, and operation and maintenance. |
