Summary | The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is one of the top ten key technologies in the 21st century. The installation of RFID tag on a vehicular to collect traffic information is regarded as a new and innovative technology in the application of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). It remains an important issue of the international development of ITS, and the main research topics of this study. The main research topics of this study include the follows: The history and current development of RFID system the individual scenario analyses of RFID on collecting traffic information analysis of RFID and vehicular detection the application analysis of electronic tag in ITS the cost and benefit analysis for the development of electronic tag the real testing analysis of electronic tag the planning of demonstrated testing plan and the design of middleware and planning of backend information system. The main contribution of this study is to give a classification of RFID in the characteristic functions and to define the normal traffic parameters of general vehicular detectors. It includes the traffic flow, occupation rate, average speed, vehicular classification, and vehicular traveling detections. The possible applications of RFID are summarized in the final report of this study. |
