Summary | The land rises and falls in Keelung area. It provides less flats for people and road system to extend. Keelung is cut off by the tracks and station area of railroad, and this hinders the extension of transportation system in Keelung. Furthermore, the vibration and the noise made by the trains running on the rail worsens the quality of life along the rail line. The construction of rail grade separation is a serious public work. It not only has greatly influence on urban developing, but also cost substantially. Therefore, careful planning and evaluation before construction is very important. Under the consideration of social and economic terms in Keelung area, this study brings up four alternatives for rail grade separation (the rail flat surface reform alternative, the rail flyover alternative, and two subterranea alternatives). Considering the check points of route engineer in rail subterranea alternatives, they both will bring out graveness affect to Keelung area. So the rail subterranea alternatives are rejected. And finally we estimate the cost and benefit terms of two others alternatives. The outcome shows these two alternatives are economically unworkable alternatives. |
