Summary | Under the extensive support from the government, the ITS/CVO (Intelligent Transportation System/Commercial Vehicle Operation) is highly expected to operate the commercial transportation systems intelligently by improving the efficiency of their operations. “The Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Deployment of ITS/CVO - Development and Demonstration of IC Card Applied to Taximeter” is a two-year study. This study aims at organizing the in-taxi security management system, developing prototype modal design, and performing an operating demonstration of the system. The findings of this study provide important references for future applications to taxis operations in order to improve the efficiency of their operation and security management. The second-phase study extends from February 8, 2006 to November 30, 2006. The second-phase study mainly carries out the demonstration of practical operation of the prototype modal and the cost/benefit analysis. Beside, the study proposes a comprehensive plan including how to promote the modal in Taiwan and how to deal with necessary follow-up operation/management issues. The study will be an important reference for the government in the near future, while implementing a large scale taxi operation improvement plan. |
