Summary | The domestic practical traffic engineers in the central and local governments need to update their professional knowledge and ability so as to analyze and overcome various kinds of road traffic problems. Therefore, it is necessary to provide them with sufficient on-the-job training to achieve this purpose. This project and its relevant works is the fourth-year program of a five-year on-the-job traffic engineering training scheme, starting from January 1, 2002 through November 15, 2006. Major task items and research outcomes for the project include: (1) collection and review of previous experiences of relevant Traffic Engineering Training Programs (2) planning and implementation of traffic engineering training program of this year, including the presentation of modern traffic engineering technologies by using the world-wide website (http:// safety.iot.gov.tw/) (3) Surveying of traffic engineering officials to assess their needs in traffic-engineering (4) Processing and editing comments and suggestions of the current TE training program collected from our trainees and trainers (5) Suggestions for future TE training programs gathered from invited scholars and experts to enhance the effects of the up-coming TE courses. |
