| Summary | The main purpose of this study is to develop an effective index for evaluating the sufficiency of public transit system. In additional to traditional data, such as routes, stops, and frequency, we also need to consider relevant social oriented data such as income levels (Ministry of the Finance), resident density (Ministry of the Interior), and job opportunities (Ministry of the Economic Affairs). We want to establish the index in the public transportation systems, as Competitiveness, covering rate or equity index etc. This index can distinguish the characteristics between urban and rural areas in different social and economic conditions of public transportation supply. With the help of this index, we expect to promote the coverage and fairness of public transit system and strengthen the status of insufficient. |
