| Summary | Insurance companies can help improve the road safety in many ways however, they did not extend their capacity to road safety very much. In order to encourage the insurance companies to participate in the improvement of road safety, we study the fields in which they participate, the advantages they could get, and the positive effects to the insurance companies, to ensure the improvement of road safety by the insurance system. The ways for the insurance companies to participate in the improvement of road safety are suggested as follows: (1) Enhancing road users* knowledge of road traffic safety (2) Providing their customers with vehicle maintenance and succor services (3) Improving road driving conditions (4) Giving rewards to the persons who execute or assist in improving road safety (5) Developing a system of improving and researching road safety in the insurance companies and (6) Developing a road safety database system. |
