| Summary | This handbook is an attachment of "The establishment of the ‘Manual on Uniform Guide Signs"(3/3), which was written for the project in 2009. It is the follow-up plan for utilizing and promoting the revised (2011) "Manual on Uniform Guide Signs". The handbook analyzes the existing problems in Taiwan's guide sign system and compiles the domestic and foreign relevant specifications and standards for implementing guide signs.
This handbook includes 8 major articles: General Introduction, General Rules for Designing Guide Signs, Guide Signs for Highways, Guide Signs for Freeways and Expressways, Guide Signs for Urban Streets, Auxiliary Guide Sign Indicators, Types and Structure for Sign Poles, and Inspecting Existing Guide Signs. A demonstration for applying the guidelines to road planning was carried out. The results of the demonstration prove that the handbook works effectively in practice. |
