| Summary | Bicycles have lots of advantages, including being space-saving, having no noise and no air pollution, and improving health. The Government has initiated a plan regarding a National Bikeway System to connect local bikeways with roadways around the island to provide a bikeway network for leisure and tourism. However, there are still some problems regarding the local bikeways, such as bike routes not being smooth, poor pavement conditions, insufficient width, entry barriers, lack of clear signs, poor bike route connections, routes being occupied, etc. Although there are many web sites using the Geographic Information System (GIS) to provide bicycle route information. However, without bikeway width, circumstance images and pavement condition, people still have to spend more time to confirm their needed information. The goal of this research is to build a rapid bikeway video logging system which can collect bikeway images more quickly. The result of the research can provide references for bikeway image collecting technologies. At present this investigation system has completed the phantom investigation for the 4,000 km of bike paths, and been integrated into the existing Highway Inventory Management System. |
