| Summary | The transportation system includes several subsystems such as highways, railways, water and air. The transportation projects in these various subsystems all compete for government funding. To invest effectively given limited resources, the government needs a decision support system in carrying out project reviews. Therefore the objective of this project is to develop a decision support system that can fulfill the above-mentioned functions. This report documents the tasks accomplished in the last year of this third-year project. They include the following: (1) Continuously-updated data for Taiwan intercity transportation system (2) Completed the preliminary integrated database (3) Finished the decision support system for transportation investment (4) Conducted a case study. In summary, this project developed a decision-support system that was capable of fulfilling the following functions: (1) Provided data for decision making with an integrated database (2) Showed the transportation master plans and related data for building a graphical demonstration system (3) Supported comprehensive transportation planning processes with demand models and (4) Supplied technical analyses for reviewing the mid-to-long-term transportation development program. This decision-support system can provide a useful tool for IOT in conducting reviews of transportation planning and transportation projects. |
