Summary | Taiwan Railway Administration owns huge railway land properties. However, under the current laws, those lands have not been properly developed till now. From the viewpoint of resource development, railway land development could not only increase the efficiency of social resources, but also encourage railway operators to make profits to increase financial sustainability. In this study, we introduced 3 foreign cases including: (1) the North Area of Osaka Station in Japan (2) the New Yokohama Station and (3) the Dockland Light Rail system (DLR) in London. In addition, we also reviewed the situations of land use and urban redevelopment in Japan and England. Finally, we tried to make some conclusions through understanding the above cases and suggestions for further applications on land use and TRA development. |
