| Summary | Published in December 2004 IOT SERIAL No. 93-124-5265, 118pp. The Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) is an important sector of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). ATIS functions to gather all the traffic information, and provide the real-time traffic information for the public. However, the recent development on ATIS is very limited in Taiwan. Besides the shortage of manpower and financial resources from the local government, the implementation and maintenance of traffic detectors is another challenge for the impetus of ATIS. Therefore, this project aims to apply the city bus and taxi real-time location information systems to derive traffic information. After practice and verification, the concept and model proposed in this project was proved to be workable to transfer bus/taxi real-time location information to reflect the traffic condition and serve as a supplement of city traffic information. |
