The study is a combination wave’s action and structure’s monitoring research. A neuro-fuzzy network model of forecasting typhoon waves was developed in this project. The present model consists of three parts. The first part is to set up a database for typhoon data and the corresponding swell conditions. The second part is to set up a database for typhoon data and the corresponding wind wave conditions. The database is used to enhance the prediction capability of the neuro network model. The other part is to connect the typhoon waves to typhoon condition by using fuzzy-neuro network. A comparison with observed wave height shows that the present model has high capability of predicting wave height of typhoon waves.
The monitoring research of structure to be breaking is to learn about stress characteristics of the mass, scouring at the site and base, the effect of earthquakes on the breakwater, and displacement or settlement, as well as surface cracks of sink-boxes.
