Summary | In recent years, along with thriving business, the amount of vehicles has increased rapidly over the past decades. Meanwhile, the issues of fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, traffic jam and safety were getting more and more concern. Due to limited fossil energy, the price of energy on the global market has fluctuated violently over the past few years. Therefore, to have a good or strategy beforehand is necessary. This is the reason that the governmental transportation departments worldwide want to combine the new technologies and real-time information to increase traffic safety, decrease the accidental casualties, to save energy, and reduce carbon emissions.
Currently, in ITS-advanced countries, such as the USA, Canada, Japan and Europe, in order to reach the goals of energy saving, carbon reduction, transportation safety improvement and traffic jam reduction, ITS trends are moving forward to the integration of individual areas from independent development, and the approaches are based on the vehicle infrastructure integration system. Therefore, by observing the trends of the vehicle infrastructure integration system in other advanced countries and by discussing the practicability of the interior vehicle infrastructure integration system, making and adjusting the ITS development policy and strategy for the future is an important topic with top priority. Based on the development trends, pushing the vehicle infrastructure integration system and achieving energy saving and carbon reduction through ITS technologies is an issue focused on by worldwide governments and industries. This research aims at inducing service items and contents for the interior vehicle infrastructure integration system through the following approaches. Firstly, analyze the state of the art and development trends of the vehicle infrastructure integration system worldwide. Secondly, discuss the first application services of the vehicle infrastructure integration system, which conforms to the interior situation on society and ITS development. Thirdly, analyze the relationship between the system and the energy saving and carbon reduction, and the evaluation methods for energy saving and carbon reduction through each application service of the vehicle infrastructure integration system. Then, perform the evaluation on the practicability of the system and the efficiency of energy saving and carbon reduction. Finally, propose a strategy to develop the interior vehicle infrastructure integration system based on the evaluation results. |
