| Summary | The groundsill works of Freeway No.1 Zhong-sha bridge is subject to flood erosion and pipe bridge’s protection works affected in recent years, leading to the north and south ends river channel erosion and the groundsill works destruction, resulting in pier base exposed and downstream of tribar armors sank or drained. In order to avoid the flow path changes to scour river beaches on both sides of the high and lead to a substantial decline in bed naked abutment, thereby affecting Zhong-sha traffic safety. This project carry out hydraulic model tests, and research appropriate improvement plan for the National Freeway Bureau laid refer to the relevant decisions of the abutment protection. |
