Summary       In order to effectively control the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from transportation sector, it’s necessary to collect and establish the database of greenhouse gas emissions. The Bureau of Energy regularly publish annual "Energy Balance Tables" which separated into various type of energy sources and sectors and its sub-systems. The data of transportation sector in "Energy Balance Tables" was classified by six sub-system, including "domestic aviation", "road", "railroad", "pipeline transportation", "domestic water" and "others".
Nevertheless, the information showed from the data is not enough to analyze the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions subjects in transportation sector.
IOT has been collecting the relevant data to estimate energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector since 2008. This operation manual based on "Energy Balance Tables" of the Bureau of Energy and statistic of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications can help us to estimate energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions data in great detail. In addition, the manual published annual energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector with the various modes data since 1990 to 2013, and the estimated energy intensity of the main transportation modes in 2013. Meanwhile, we discussed related topics
about energy consumption and greenhouse gases emission in transportation sector, including scoping, data quality, and calculation methods.
The finding of this study can serve as reference for the promotional and implementation activities of the transportation sector.
