| Summary | Published in March 2005 Over the past several years, the government has endeavored to promote the intellectualization of the transportation systems (ITS/CVO), and has encouraged improvements on the operational efficiency and administrative system for transportation industry. This particular Taxicab IC Card Applying to Taximeter developing study is a continuous two-year plan, whose principal purpose lies on enhancing the functions of taxicab fare meters, by adding new function designs to attain the objective of intellectualized operations and management. The main task of the second phase of the plan is to implement the demonstration operation plan of the new IC card-style fare meter modal, which was invented in the first phase. It is also directed at performing a benefit assessment of the implemented results. In addition, further research, discussion, and planning will be carried out with all related administrative departments, regarding the standards of the nationalized IC Card provisions system and bidding operations. This is to measure the amount of cards and card-reading machines required by each unit throughout the country, as well as to study the IC card-style fare-meter promotion procedures, and to provide consultation to relevant government departments. |
