| Summary | Published in August 2004 IOT SERIAL No. 93-98-698, 132pp. ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) is a popular field on transportation sector that developed Countries are highly interested in. However, the technologies that are applied to ITS are changing with each passing day, such as electronics, telecommunication, and computer science. The advances of these technologies have directly stimulated and affected the demand of road user and the future of ITS. This study analyzed the development trend in all fields of ITS by means of reference review, so that the outcomes of this study can serve as useful reference for making Master Plan and ITS system architecture in Taiwan. In this study, ITS-related technologies are categorized to eighteen groups. The relationships between ITS fields and each technology are listed. According to the list, the integration of ITS technologies can be considered in the future. The outcomes of this study indicate the importance of integrating various telecommunication technologies and systems for the facilities interconnectability, data interchangeability and operation Interoperability. Further investigation is needed to enhance the integration of telecommunication. |
