| Summary | There are methods regarding traffic surveillance, traffic congestion relief, and road-capacity extension by taking advantage of ITS solutions For the implementation of the above, many solutions were proposed by domestic and foreign scholars in the past decade. Among these solutions, the visual-based solutions were the most popular because of their highly maintainable, flexible, and intuitive features Many researches of real-time traffic information were based on the image-processing approaches in these years. Recently, there have been many breakthroughs on the image-processing technologies of vehicle detection in Taiwan. For traffic surveillance, the government authority has set up many cameras on the roadside. If the image-processing technologies can be utilized to detect traffic events, the load of traffic management and the enforcement of government authority will be largely lightened, and the reliability of the traffic information will be highly improved. Therefore, this study tried to review the relevant domestic and foreign articles and products of image-processing technologies to find the main development trends of traffic event detection. In addition, the patent search work was processed in this study to realize the implementation of image-processing technologies utilized on traffic event detection. Finally, the assessment of transferring the technologies of image-processing vehicle detectors was proposed in this study, and the results of this study can be significant references for the following relevant researches. |
