Summary | Published in April 2005 Nowadays in Taiwan, consumer behavior has changed. For satisfying customers’ needs, diversified, modern, and consumptive centers have been developed gradually. This kind of business center, which is called “shopping mall”, combines different functions including shopping, recreation, education, culture, food & beverage, and exhibition. It also offers comprehensive services including green, parking areas, and public facilities. In shopping malls, customers can purchase everything at one time as well as enjoy comfortable environment and leisure time. The purpose of this project is to investigate and collect the information of trip generation, parking spaces and building usage requirements. The collected information will be used in the trip generation rate and parking demand rate forecasting models of shopping malls. With the technical assistance of GIS, all research results will be referred to traffic impact assessment for shopping mall owners, and as an examined basis for transportation authorities. |
