| Summary | The “Biker Friendly Environment and Integrated Bike Lane Network Implement Plan from 2015 through 2018” promoted by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) with approval of the Executive Yuan, is expected to learn from the successful experience of “Demonstrated Plan of Bike Lane Network in the Eastern Region” to continue the implementation of West Region recreational bike lane network and tourism, to integrate the biking culture into daily life, and gradually build the Bicycle Lifestyle Island from the aspects of industrial development, transportation, education and culture to achieve the goal of Bicycle Riding Country. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications completed the "Cycling Route No. 1" with the Sports Administration of the Ministry of Education at the end of 2015. In order to perfect the friendly environment of cycling route in the country, subsequently, the "Cycling Route No. 1" will be the main route, and divide the entire Taiwan into five major regions and plan for the classic routes in accordance with the "Biker Friendly Environment and Integrated Bike Lane Network Implement Plan from 2015 through 2018" to launch a demonstration bike land network for each region from 2016 to 2018. |
