| Summary | To convey the status and capacity of Taiwan’s transportation systems in 2007, this report analyzes the aspects of major construction projects, infrastructure, general operations information, capacity, growth trend of demand, and level of service for various transportation systems, including railways, highways, maritime transportation, civil aviation, and urban transportation, respectively. Most items in this report are remained the same as those in the previous report, except for two sections are further added to the chapter of Maritime Transportation. These two sections are the growth trend of passenger transportation under “Mini-Three-Links” and the analysis of the tonnage structure of top 20th container shipping companies worldwide, respectively. This annual report has been published since 1978. A data diskette containing all the items has been included in this report since 1993 and it has been replaced by a compact disk (CD) since 1998. For convenience, this report is available online (at http://www.iot.gov.tw/) since 1998. |
