| Summary | Most of Taiwan harbor facilities such as wharves and embankments have been used for more than forty years. In order to help harbor authorities for sustainable operation, Institute of Transportation is actively to set up a management and maintenance information system. The system at Hwalien and Keelung harbors was established in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
In the study, rolling up method was adopted to revise the system comprehensively and expanded including Suau & Taipei harbors. The project tasks were done as follows: (1) Fundamental information and field inspecting results at Suau and Taipei harbors were added in the system. (2) Continually proceeding the physical inspecting and compared with previous results at Keelung Harbor. (3) Providing Keelung Harbor company suggestion for dealing harbor structure inspection and its evaluation. The project achievements could be applied by harbor authorities to make a management and maintenance policy. Research methods and framed system could also be applied for harbor facility management operation. |
