With the M.O.T.C endeavors, several traffic information services are already available in daily life. In 2003, the Institute of Transportation (IOT) started to develop the “Passenger Transportation Information Service Center” website which providing the land-sea-air passenger transportation information and departure and arrival information of domestic airports. Besides, he center also provides a unitary contact window for the public with convenient traffic information, uniform data format, and data access control, to manage the overall traffic information. This project, a two-year project and follows the 2003 project outcomes, focuses on the operation and maintenance of the “Passenger Transportation Information Service Center.” With the purposes of ensuring the information's credibility and completeness, the center assisted 48 highway transportation service operators and two marine transportation service operators in incorporating their data into the system through Internet since 2004. Further applications such as value-added services could also be considered to promote the development of traffic information services and related industries. In 2005, this project completes the maintenance plan of the database system, the development of KIOSK and interactive voice response (IVR), and the adjustment of the preliminary system as well. |
