Summary From 2007 to 2009, the MOTC IOT has completed a 3-phase project, “The Establishment of a Manual on Uniform Guide Signs”, to learn the experiences of other countries and the interior rules and deployment measures. The project has established the Manual and Computer-Aided Tools for Drawing Uniform Guide Signs and Planning Guide Signs to provide references to engineers and governmental road traffic agencies.

  To expand these accomplishments, starting from 2010, this project continues to promote the application of the manual and computer-aided tools for two years. In the first phase, this project will begin with collecting user opinions, as well as carrying out case studies via questionnaire and interviewing experts and scholars. Then, based on the findings of the analysis, the modifications of the manual and the tools will be done to comply with the needs for planning and deploying road guide signs.

  The major achievements of this project in 2010 period includes: 1. Assistance of the “Guide Signs Improvement Team” to set up some alternatives for guide sign improvement
2. Development of a new font of alphabetic letters for computer-aided tools and AutoCAD
3. Improvement planning of guide signs along Bali-Xindian Expressway.
