| Summary | This project is based on the latest traffic network information from every city/county government and road maintaining administration to maintain the “Institute of Transportation Traffic Road Network Digital Atlas”. The modification references include opographic and orthophoto base maps, aerial photography and satellite images etc., and the modification range includes Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matzu. The national freeway and express highway were renewed by July 2008 , and other roads were renewed by June 2007. Regarding road names, this project made comparisons to the metropolis address position material (including Taipei City, Taipei County[part], Keelung City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County[part], Taichung City, Nantou County[part], Chiayi City, Taibao city of Chiayi County, Tainan City, Pingtung City of Pingtung County, Yulan County[part] and Hualian County[part]) to increase road names. Meanwhile, in order to co-operate the service of route plan or address localization, the major roads of Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung City are digitized in double line to create the most current road network. After this project, the number of single road networks was approximately 590,000, compared with the last road network increase of approximately 50,000, including the high-speed rail peripheral road, the new Tamsui Township town and alternative Nangang plans for the area to increase the roads. Moreover the landmark aspect increased the number of city landmarks (for example, the Taipei 101 buildings, Kaohsiung 85 buildings) and hundreds of mountain landmarks. The latest “Institute of Transportation Traffic Road Network Digital Atlas” was published in September 2008. To satisfy each kind of different application needing the coordinates system, we provide the TWD97TM2 coordinates system, TWD97 latitude and longitude of the coordinates system and TWD67TM2 coordinates system the user's manual is also provided in the product disc. |
