Summary Since the competition of the global market, the market is moving towards specialization gradually with the vigorous developments in the shipping industry.Container shipping lines are not only focusing on their core business through
outsourcing, but also enable to obtain the best experience and competitiveness by third-party services. A professional ship management company effectively separates the ship management responsibility and ownership, and a professional manager can improve the profitability and international competitiveness of ships. This study is based on the orientation of container shipping lines, and the questionnaires survey for container shipping lines in Taiwan. Based on marketing SAVE aspects, including solution (S), access (A), value (V), and education (E), this paper obtains by questionnaires and using the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and the revised decision making trial and evaluation laboratory analysis to define the importance and correlation of key influential factors for container shipping lines selecting ship management companies. These results can provide as a good reference for container shipping lines to develop maritime non-core business outsourcing strategies.
