Title AN EVALUATION MODEL FOR THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND EMISSION REDUCTION OF TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

Summary The transportation sector is the second largest energy consuming sector in Taiwan, which established the importance of green transportation promoting and transportation sector energy conservation and emission reduction. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications mandates policies for developing sustainable green transportation and implementing measures for energy conservation and emission reduction. Therefore, there is a need for an assessment model for evaluating the effects of energy consumption and emission reduction of various transportation measures.
This research reviewed domestic and international literatures to establish an evaluation model “Transportation Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Evaluation Module”, which can be applied for different strategy assessment. This research applying the case studies to analyze the transportation management strategies for the consideration of decision-making of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and related ministries.
