In response to the planning and advancing the Light Rail Transit in all metropolitan areas in the
Forward-Looking Infrastructure Development Program by Taiwan government in recent years, the Country needs to evaluate the transportation capacity and traffic safety of the Light Rail Transit to ensure that the future system can provide expected transportation services under the most economical condition in the planning stage, and can assist the Operating Agencies to control the utilization conditions of the Light Rail Transit transportation capacity in the operating stage. In addition, in order to effectively grasp the key technologies for planning and advancing the Light Rail Transit, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications also promulgated the updated "Standard Specification for Light Rail Transit Construction and Rolling Stock" in January, 2018.
For this reason, this research emphasizes on exploring issues of traffic safety arising from the
interweaving of the plane surface Light Rail Transit of C-Type Right-of-Way and the traffic flow of other plane surface pedestrians and vehicles, as well as the capacity issues of the plane surface Light Rail Transit (especially the C-Type Light Rail Transit), and in the follow-up, it is still necessary to perform in-depth research on the related issues, in order to effectively clarify and solve all types of related issues. |
