Since many countries have paid attention to and implemented MaaS services in recent years, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications also declared MaaS as one of the important development strategies in its 2020 edition of the Transportation Policy White Book. The project provided a thorough discussion on the strategic direction of MaaS from single-county and city transportation services, such as MeNGo, to cross-county and city transportation services as well as other applicable areas like scenic or rural areas. Through an exploration of the characteristics of
users, trips, and modes of transport, different modes of transportation and ticket-selling plans were integrated. By doing so, the most suitable MaaS model for each area could be developed.
Through the analysis of commuting trips, the living sphere of major counties and cities in Taiwan was marked out. After the principle of area selection was made, central Taiwan, which includes Taichung, Changhua, and Nantou, was selected from five major living spheres as the recommended area for subsequent construction. In view of the goal of regional connection, resource integration, and MaaS improvement, the scenic spots and rural areas of the Jiji recreation corridor and Jiji Township were selected from the area of Taichung, Changhua, and Nantou.
Finally, drawingon the results of the content and investigation of the abovementioned research, MaaS in central Taiwan was initially drafted for cross-county commuting methods, the Jiji recreation corridor, and Jiji Township. In order to assist the follow-up promotion of domestic MaaS services and support the clearing operation for ticket income, the project explored the data analysis method of MaaS ticket income and floating clearing methods, which could be divided into a three types of different complexity based on the calculation dimension: simple type, general
type and complete type. The general type was subsequently adopted and the "Ticket Income and Floating Clearing Application of MaaS" was developed for this type to help the subsequent operation and management of MaaS.
