Title The Study of Connected Vehicle Experiment Field of Public Transportation in Taiwan
Dept Transportation Technology and Information Division
Year 2020
Month 7
Price 560
Summary

"Safety" and "Efficiency" have always been important goals for all countries to promote Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and the two influence each other. In terms of the development trend of ITS in the world in recent years, the Europe, the United States, and Japan have recognized that the Connected Vehicle formed by V2I of vehicles (V) and road infrastructure (I) and V2V of vehicles (V) and vehicles (V) can provide safer, smoother, more environmentally friendly and energy efficient transportation environment. This Study explores the application modes of Connected Vehicle in our Country's "Traffic Safety" and "Traffic Information Services", and conducts first Connected Vehicle field experiment in the experiment field constructed at Provincial Highway No. 62 of Keelung City and the Jijin 2nd Road / Jijin 3rd Road. In recent years, the international development of ITS has been moving towards the development of Connected Vehicle (CV) with Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC), and active development of Automated Vehicle (AV) based on Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) , and even further exploring the development of Connected Automated Vehicle (CAV) that combines Connected Vehicle and Automated Vehicle.

This Study responds to the International ITS development trend to conduct field test in the Keelung Experiment Field combining Connected Vehicle and ADAS, to provide driving safety for public transportation vehicles and improve pedestrian traffic safety at intersections with smart safety intersections, and build the high precision maps and related test operations required for self-driving vehicles operation in Zhongxing New Village, for our Country to conduct follow-up Advanced Vehicle Driving Assistance Systems and Connected Vehicles, furthermore to improve the effectiveness of our Country's smart transportation in the aspect of traffic safety, and provide the basis for the testing and verification of Automated Driving Technology research and development for our Country.
