Summary Complex competitive and cooperative relationships exist among different transportation systems. To understand the development directions of the transportation systems, it is necessary to not construct a model to improve the distribution of benefits from allocated resources.
In 2009, the IOT completed the “Taiwan Transportation Decision Support System”, which supports the assessment and analysis of transportation plans, and accumulates data, experience and knowledge for the benefit of better reviewing of transportation planning, project review and medium-long-term development assessment. We continued to implement the “Medium and Long Term Planning Review and Decision Support System And Integrated Database Maintenance (2018)”.
The work items under this project completed this year include:
1. Maintain and update the current transportation planning database and improving the database functions.
2. Review and adjust the structure and content of the current database and review the possibilities data sharing and resource linkages.
3. Maintain and upgrade the Taiwan Transportation Policy Decision Support System; carry out security maintenance, system testing, and certification of data rationality.
4. Provide data compilation and analysis and administrative assistance to support transport planning, policy decision making, and topical analysis
5. Support basic data collection and organization for the 2017 Observation of Public Road Transport Fluctuations Between Cities in Western Taiwan and analyze the transformation of intercity transportation since the opening of new THSR stations.
The results have been disseminated widely and also offered to Railway Reconstruction Bureau, MOTC and the city governments of Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli.to serve as a reference for their transportation planning units.
