Summary       This research report presents research on four local harbors in Taiwan. By using data collection systems, wind, wave and
current data are collected at sites offshore from Penghu, Putai, Matsu & Green Island. We set the statistical parameters of the data
items to be analyzed. The analysis results showed the following average wind speeds: Penghu, 5.1m/s; Putai Port, 4.7m/s; Matsu
Port, 3.3m/s; Green Island, 3.0m/s. Average wave heights were as follows: Penghu, 0.57m; Putai Port, 0.54m; Matsu Port,
0.53m; Green Island, 0.54m. Average current speeds were: Penghu, 24.8cm/s; Putai Port, 26.7cm/s; Matsu Port, 19.9cm/s; and
Green Island, 19.0cm/s. The observation data collected over the years are provided to government and research units for further
application. We have established a long-term port and sea weather observation website and database systems, which will assist in
providing vessel traffic management systems of the various port authorities with urgently-needed sea weather information.
