  • Department:Transportation Planning and Land Transport Division

The “Transportation Infrastructure Decision Support System” (hereinafter referred to as the System) conducted by the Institute of Transportation, MOTC (hereinafter IOT) received the “TGOS Value-added Application Award” presented by the Ministry of the Interior (MOI). The MOI held the “2021 TGOS Platform Awarding and Results Seminar” at the Taipei Garden Hotel on November 17, 2021. At the seminar, MOI Deputy Minister Chang-Yueh Chiu presented the award to the IOT Director General Chi-Kuo Lin (as shown in photo).

The IOT’s Director General has been long engaged in overall transport planning in Taiwan. Data required for transport planning operations have been extensively accumulated. In order to effectively preserve data and observe Taiwan’s transport market trends, assistance has been provided to evaluate policies and complete the transport sector’s decision-making support system set-up. Users may search the linear locations of traffic construction cases and plans and relevant peripheral information through the TGOS Map API. The system began interfacing and using the TGOS MAP API services in 2016 in order to effectively save map acquisition and production costs, enhance the smoothness and appearance of the system operating interface. In order to achieve resource sharing, the integrated database in this system will continue to be open for free access by public sector transport planning units and academic units. In the future, education training courses will be started to extend use benefits, promote setup results, and promote understanding and application by transport planning personnel. Further, the opinion exchanges and feedbacks shall serve as references for improving and optimizing subsequent system development.
