Project Status

Subject Be application of a renewable energy converting system to the enhancement of a green harbor (4/4)
Purpose

The aim of this research is to establish a real “green port” that may contain recycled green energy system in the harbor. It means to reduce the emissions of dioxides and transmission loss of the energy. As we all know that the usage of energy in the harbor is 24 hours a day and 365 days a year due to the safety and operation requirements. If we can use the green energy as a complementary supply then the reduction in the emissions of dioxide may be achievable. Types of green energy are abundant, which include solar energy, wind energy, ocean energy and other many kinds of developments in the recycled methodology. For the application of green energy in the port, the first important factor considered is the safety of navigation of ships and then the operational function of the port. Therefore, choices for the application of green energy in the harbor might be limited. Since harbor is a place full of water, naturally, ocean energy is the first priority in the application. There are many types of methods to convert the ocean energy into useful powers such as the wave power converter, tide power converter, usage in the gradient of water temperature in deep sea and many others. Wave power converter will be the first considered and studied in this research.
